How does the Legal Advisor work?

We hold free public appointments where students (with qualified legal supervision) interview and evaluate clients, and then elaborate legal advice in several legal areas such as employment, housing, debt, family and contractual matters. We can also help you in other areas of the law by using our links with local firms such as Capital Law, Harding Evans, and Howells, which also provide free legal advice UK online and support to the clinic. we provide valuable community service and is an excellent training ground for students and allows them to develop transferable skills to improve their employability and gain experience of how the law really affects the lives of real people. They also connect with legal professionals so they can improve their legal skills.

Often, clients do not come to the Clinic with a clearly identified legal problem and students learn to help them translate their concerns into legally recognizable categories and offer concise explanations of concepts and legal advice processes that may be completely new to people.

Students can now participate in the clinic as a formal module for their university studies or they can volunteer to develop their skills. In addition to initial and on-the-job training and supervision, students will also receive ongoing instruction in topics such as ethics, office management, and case management systems.
